Time Telling to the Hour

Telling Time to the Hour, Half Hour and Quarter Hour


What time is it?

Introduce the clock and ask what's the time.
Draw a clock on the board and label the numbers on the clock.
Show the hour hand and minute hand.

Start by showing time such as 3 o'clock, 9 o'clock and 11 o'clock. 
Draw the time on the clock.
That is the hour.

Then introduce the half past by pointing the minute hand to 6.
Ask children to tell the time in half past.

For quarter hour, point the minute hand to 3 and introduce the time.
Get children practice this worksheet to reinforce their understanding.
